XK72 Limited makes Kitset, in New Zealand. This statement is about the Kitset app and this website.

The app

Your videos, your settings and your tokens stay on your Mac and in your own Cloudflare account. We cannot see them.

Kitset checks a licence key on your Mac. With a licence, Kitset also checks with our licence server once a week that the licence is not revoked, for example after a refund. For this check, Kitset sends the number of your purchase, and the number of the licence when the purchase has several. It also sends the versions of Kitset and macOS. Kitset does not send your name, your email address or anything about your sites. Our licence server keeps no log of these checks. Cloudflare hosts the server, so Cloudflare sees the IP address of your Mac. In the trial, Kitset sends nothing to our licence server.

Kitset checks for updates once a day, also in the trial. It reads the list of new versions from our update server, and it downloads each update from that server. For these checks, Kitset sends only the versions of Kitset and of Sparkle, the part of the app that checks for updates. It sends nothing about you or your sites. Cloudflare hosts the update server, so Cloudflare sees the IP address of your Mac. You can turn off the checks in Settings ▸ Updates.

The app also connects to the services that you use with it: your Cloudflare account, Vimeo when you use Vimeo Sync, and Google Fonts or another address when you add a font or a stylesheet.

Your video site

Your site runs in your own Cloudflare account, and Cloudflare’s privacy policy applies to it. Its pages set a cookie only when a viewer signs in. Kitset adds no analytics to them.

This website

kitset.video has no cookies and no analytics. Cloudflare hosts it.

Purchases

Our reseller Paddle sells the licences, and it is the merchant of record for each order. Paddle takes the payment and keeps the details of your order under Paddle’s privacy policy. The checkout of Paddle loads only when you choose Buy, and it can set its own cookies.

Paddle gives us your name and your email address, and your licence key contains them. An Organisation licence key also contains the name of your organisation, which you type before the checkout. Paddle keeps that name with your order. We send the key to you by email, through Cloudflare. Our licence server keeps the purchase for seven days, so that it can show the key on the thank-you page and send the email one time. After a full refund or a chargeback, the server keeps the number of the purchase with no time limit, so that Kitset finds the revocation in its weekly check. Paddle keeps the record of your order, so we can send the key again if you lose it.
