Player pages
Each complete video has a player page on your page hostname. A page Worker in your Cloudflare account shows the pages. It reads the details of each video from your bucket, so a change in Kitset shows on the next load of the page.
To try a player page, open a video on the demo site.
What a page shows
- A link back to the home page, with the title of the site. It shows when the home page is public, and for viewers who sign in.
- The player. It fits the shape of the video.
- The title of the video, under the player.
- The Unlisted icon after the title, for an unlisted video. Its tooltip tells viewers that only people with the link and signed-in viewers can find the video.
- The description, under the title.

The pages have no ads, no suggested videos and no logos. The built-in pages load nothing from other companies, not even fonts. Kitset puts the Inter font and the player on your page hostname with the Worker.
To change the look of the pages, see Design and the player and Custom templates.
The address of a page
An address has three parts: the page hostname, the page folder and the folder name of the video.
https://watch.example.com/summer-launch
https://watch.example.com/videos/summer-launch
The page folder is empty by default, as in the first address. The second address has the page folder videos.
To change the page folder, open Site Settings ▸ Site, and change Page folder under Page URLs. The Example row shows an address with the new folder. Then click Save.

A change of the page folder breaks every link that people already have. Kitset does not redirect the old links, and it asks before it saves the change.
The home page is always at the root of the page hostname, also with a page folder. See The home page and viewers.
Link previews
When a person shares the link of a page, apps such as Messages, Slack and WhatsApp show the poster, the title and the start of the description. A page has the standard Open Graph tags for this.
Search engines
Search engines can find the pages of public videos. The page of an unlisted video has a noindex tag, so search engines do not list it.
When changes show
A page can stay in a cache for up to 60 seconds. So a change of the details of a video, a template or a font can take up to a minute to show.
The playlists of a video stay in a browser for up to 5 minutes. So a new file or a new subtitle track can take up to 5 minutes to show for a person who watched the video just before.
Visit Site in Site Settings ▸ Design opens the page of your newest video, with an address that skips the caches.
A page that does not exist
An address with no video gets a page that says “Video not found”, with the status 404. A folder is a video only when its upload is complete, so a page never shows a video that cannot play.
The page Worker
The Worker runs only when a person loads a page. The video files and the posters come from the media hostname and the Cloudflare cache, so the Worker does not run during playback. The Workers Free plan includes 100,000 requests a day.
Kitset updates the Worker when you upgrade the site. The built-in templates are part of the Worker, so an upgrade can also improve them.
